DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Case No. 1836507 – Maria P.
DISMISSED BY OUR FIRST COURT APPEARANCE
This was Maria’s second DWLS charge and her prior DWLS was a conviction. Her license had been suspended for several years due to tickets but she was unaware of the suspension until stopped on a traffic violation. Another attorney told her incorrectly she would have to wait until certain documents were in hand to conclude the case. We advised otherwise and we also knew the DA we were dealing with and were able to prepare and advise her ahead of court to obtain a Dismissal by our first court appearance, despite her previous DWLS conviction.

Nicole’s extensive record of drug convictions returned to harassher years later – after she had turned her life around and started a successful advertising business – in the form of an arrest for Driving While License Invalid in Houston. She had failed to take a drug class, had administrative fees outstanding, SR-22 problems and owed some $1000 in tickets. We advised her on the best way to handle this, waded our way through the paperwork and ran interference with the DA’s office and DPS and were able to obtain a Dismissal after only several weeks.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Case No. 1781015 – Kenna H.
DISMISSED
Kenna’s license was suspended for no insurance and expired registration tickets . He got the registration ticket dismissed, reinstated his insurance and paid his tickets – but not aware it was not done in the proper time frame and that he therefore still had active warrants out for his arrest. And unfortunately, since he moved, he didn’t receive the letter from DPS notifying him of he suspension until after he was arrested. Working with the State prosecutors, we proved that Kenna had demonstrated financial responsibility, just too late to prevent the suspension, that he had moved and was not notified, and got him sufficient time to allow him to pay … more surcharges and to file an SR-22 and then obtained a Dismissal once his license was clear.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED>
Case No. 1652766 – Jerry P.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Case No. 1538212 – Chris M.
DISMISSED
Chris’ DWI attorney did not inform him about the how the DWI would affect his license and the resulting surchages. As a result Chris was arrested for a DWLS while still on probation for his DWI. Chris’ grandfather, the pastor of a large, prominent Houston church, retained Mr. Haggard to straighten out the mess and try to prevent the State from revoking his grandson’s DWI probation. Mr. Haggard obtained a rapid Dismissal of the DWLS and worked with the probation office and courts to prevent the filing of a Motion to Revoke Probation – a rare occurrence in Houston. [Normally, an arrest while on probation triggers the automatic filing of an MRP.]
