The Juvenile Law Section raised over $7,000 in scholarship money at the Juvenile Law Institute. The scholarships will go to juveniles who have proven their capability of succeeding on probation or parole.

After Simpson [Defendant] was placed on deferred, he filed an application for
writ of habeas corpus challenging the voluntariness of his guilty
plea. He argued that his lawyer was ineffective because Counsel did
not assert the defense that the trial court lacked jurisdiction
because the case’s transfer from juvenile court had arguably been
improper.
